Google+ Business Local page lets potential customers and current customers find you when doing a search on Google, the #1 search engine. When you have a Google+ page, Google considers its own factors, such as the number of +1s on the Google+ Business Page, to be most influential in determining ranking order.

When creating a Google+ Local Business page you have two options to choose from: storefront business and service area business. This is a page specifically for your customers or potential customers to find your business. This visually pops out to a searcher looking for a reputable health food store in this area. The real importance of having reviews is to create trust in your product or service. This will in turn give people a reason to click on your listing and then to visit your store or website. 

Service Area Business

A new local oil company, Energy Direct, whose website we designed and also set up all social media outlets, is using Google+ Local to set specific areas that they serve. This still allows your business to reap all the benefits of getting your service out to customers in the same way as a storefront business. Not all local businesses serve their customers from a brick-and-mortar storefront. Some businesses operate from a home address. Others are mobile and have no central location. If your business serves customers at their locations, you should list it as a service area business on Google.

A #1 ranking for a business with no reviews is a missed opportunity.  Because Google+ Local pages are indexed in Google’s searches, using this feature will not only improve your business’ SEO, but will also easily provide all of your potential local customers with your business’ contact information, travel directions, customer reviews and recent Google+ posts. Encourage your customers to leave feedback and rate or review your business. The higher customers rate your business, the more clicks your page is likely to receive.
